Ajax cart
What it does
Section titled “What it does”Allows adding to the cart through JavaScript without reloading the whole page. Behavior after adding depends on the global setting:
- Notification — toast/quick bar
- Side panel — cart drawer
With the ajax cart enabled, the selector offers a notification or opening the cart. Go to cart is not a third option in this selector. Check whether the feature is enabled before comparing behavior.
The item count in the header, side panel and cart page follows quantity changes and removals. It counts product units and updates “item” and “items” without reloading, including after editing sections in the new editor (Brand Editor).
Where to configure it
Section titled “Where to configure it”Global settings → Shopping cart, in the editor.
Enable the quick cart and choose the action after adding. Coupons, recommendations, and the shipping calculator have their own controls when available; enabling the panel does not configure those commercial rules.
What to validate
Section titled “What to validate”- Product page: buy button with selected variants
- Listing: quickshop (if active)
- Quantity and out-of-stock states
When the cart does not open
Section titled “When the cart does not open”Check activation and the action after adding, selected variant, stock, and any displayed message. Compare the product page and quick buy with the same item. The count represents units: two units of one product and one of another total three items.
Record whether the problem occurs only in the editor or also in the storefront, and which apps affect purchasing. Do not remove products from someone else’s existing cart to obtain a screenshot. See Troubleshooting and support to escalate the case.
